Lindsay is home!!!! (for two weeks)

Who knew while you were off fighting a war you still get vacation time?! haha I sure didn't think that's how it works.... but I'm SO very thankful that it is!!
My little sister Lindsay is currently serving as a army medic in a ER room in Iraq. She left the first week of December, and even though we talk to her almost daily thanks to SKYPE and facebook, it just isn't the same. She will be here for two weeks and then its back to Iraq untill next Febuary.
We knew she would be home at some point this week but we didn't know until Friday afternoon that she would be in today. So we all hurried and made our big signs which we promised her we would be holding and ran off to the airport.

my parents had heard that since Lind's was coming home from Iraq the airport would let us go right up the gate and welcome her home. it took asking a few people but we finally all were given boarding passes and allowed through security. of course we had to wait once we were at her gate, because her plane was delayed 45mins, and then she was the LAST person off the plane.

we all stood holding our signs with GREAT excitement and tears in our eyes.

everyone at the airport was totally curious to see who was coming home, even passengers who were getting off the plane stopped behind us to see what the big hoopla was about.... so as soon as lindsay came out of that door and we started yelling and smiling and crying the whole place broke out with applause and people saying Thank you. it was amazing to see people are still grateful for what our troops do.

Lindsay wanted to go get some food so we stopped off at applebees and the kids all climbed on her and just loved that their Tete was home. We are ALL very happy to have her here!!! just praying this two weeks doesnt go by too fast!!!

This totally brings tears to my eyes. Tommy's brother hasn't even left yet and I can get melancholy just thinking of him being gone and at war. If not for people like your sisters and my brother in law, we wouldn't enjoy the freedoms we have today. Tell her thank you for us! And enjoy EVERY second with her! xoxo
